Our commitment
Vague.no aims to make its main functions usable by as many people as possible, regardless of disability, device or input method. Our engineering target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, while also addressing applicable Norwegian universal-design requirements.
Assessment status
Vague.no has not completed an independent accessibility audit and does not currently claim formal conformance with WCAG. Accessibility is checked during development, but automated checks alone cannot establish conformance. This page will be updated when broader keyboard, screen-reader, zoom, reflow, reduced-motion and touch testing is complete.
Priority areas
The following parts of Vague.no require particular attention during the launch audit:
- an equivalent keyboard and non-visual way to answer globe-based questions;
- screen-reader instructions and meaningful alternatives for maps, flags and result graphics;
- focus movement and restoration in settings, confirmation and profile dialogs;
- zoom, text resizing and mobile reflow without loss of content or controls;
- contrast and feedback that does not rely on colour alone;
- reduced motion for globe movement, confetti and animated score feedback;
- adequate time or an untimed alternative where speed is not essential; and
- alternatives to dragging and sufficiently large pointer targets.
Known limitations
- The interactive WebGL globe is highly visual and may not yet provide an equivalent experience for every keyboard or screen-reader user.
- Some motion-heavy feedback may be uncomfortable even when reduced-motion settings are enabled.
- Some complex result graphics and quiz imagery may provide less detail non-visually than they do visually.
If a part of the service is not accessible to you, contact us and we will try to provide the information or function in an accessible alternative while the underlying issue is addressed.
Report an accessibility problem
Email hi@vague.no with the page or feature, what you were trying to do, your browser or assistive technology if relevant, and the problem you experienced. You do not need to disclose a diagnosis or medical information.
Reports will be reviewed as time permits for this personally maintained project.
Technical information
Vague.no is built using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SvelteKit, WebGL and canvas-based globe rendering. The service is intended to work with current versions of major browsers and commonly used assistive technology.
